I live in a desert. We may have "the greatest snow on earth", but Utah is basically a big, dry, pointy desert. In the summer, this is awesome, because you get heat with out the oppressive humidity. In the winter, however, the air is so dry that it actually sucks the moisture right out of your skin, leaving exposed body parts vulnerable to cracking and bleeding. This is especially true for my hands, which I wash almost obsessively because I work with a pathogenic bacteria in the lab. Every single member of the lab has a pump bottle of lotion on their desk.
I have tried a wide variety of lotions over the years, with varying degrees of success. I have finally settled on Aveeno Active Naturals Daily Moisturizing Lotion, with natural colloidal oatmeal. I like it for several reasons. It is not at all greasy, and absorbs quickly into the skin. It is unscented, since I put it on my hands several times a day, it is nice not to smell like a perfume factory. It is noncomedogenic, which means it doesn't clog pores. Not so big a deal on constantly washed hands, but still a nice feature. It moisturizes for 24 hours on parts of the body that don't get washed multiple times a day, but is still light enough to be used repeatedly on the hands and arms.

This year, I had a new addition to the dry flaky skin family. My eyelids have become incredibly dry and peel regularly, which is 1) gross, and 2) impeding my vision when dry skin flakes get on my glasses (also gross). The Daily Moisturizing Lotion was a little heavy for my eyelids, so I went to the store and found Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer with SPF 15. A tiny amount moisturizes my entire face, with the added benefit of sunscreen, since I don't wear makeup.
I recommend both of these products if you suffer from dry skin in any climate.

This stuff ain't bad as a personal lubricant either. It's great at preventing chafing from my crusty undies.
WHAT!?! That's like, totally gross, futhermucker! You're one sick bastard-o!
BTW: I've found Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion provides a sweet and zesty flavor when used as a turkey marinade, although I've found it lubricates the digestive tract as well.
I the once know a adult men. He name Futter Mucker, and offer sausage and vaseline.
Glad that the mature audience is viewing the blog. Why don't you go back to looking at tech porn and leave this review alone.
