Well, the stupid machine made it about 9 months before the motor burned out or something, all I know is the rake will not move anymore. I tried calling Petmate several times, and had to leave messages because nobody ever ANSWERS the customer service line at the company, and still have not received a response. I can’t believe that they have the bald faced nerve to charge so much for a product that is loud, expensive to maintain and breaks down so quickly after purchasing it. I ended up purchasing a simple covered box with a little door flap so that the dog can’t get in and eat Kitty Rocha (TM my friend Brad), and it seems to be working ok. I have to scoop more often, but it is s small price to pay so I don’t have to hear the forlorn grinding of a motor that is trying to move a jammed rake.
If you are in any doubt as to my opinion of this product, NEVER BUY A PETMATE PURRFORMA XL SELF CLEANING LITTER BOX, EVER.
