Orginal Star Trek -- Remastered

My initial reaction when I first heard of the re-release of the original "Star Trek" was a yawn.

Recently, my local Fox affiliate started running the remastered episodes. Since there was something inside of me (probably because I grew up watching re-runs of "Trek) begging me to take a look, I threw it up on the old TiVo.

I finally sat down the other day and watched "The Menagerie". I must say, I was impressed. The Enterprise has gone from a blurry '60's model to a Hi-Def marvel. The overall picture is very bright, bringing out those tacky '60's colors we all loved.

My only complaint is that sometimes the special effects are too good. During one scene, I found myself looking out at the stars racing by and totally ignored the dialog. Of course it could just be the fact that I have seen most of the episodes about 100 times each....

Check your local listing on your major networks for rebroadcasts of Star Trek. If you are lucky enough to have a high def TV/receiver, networks are airing Trek in high def. Give it a look, it's worth watching once again (until the new DVD's are released).

BTW, awesome Star Trek inspirational posters can be found here. Gotta love "Expandability".
